Dental Care

Imagine what your mouth would feel like if you never brushed your teeth or went to the dentist. For many dogs and cats, this is a painful reality. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by the age of 3. Dental disease (or periodontal disease) is the most frequently diagnosed health problem in pets.

Emergency

Please come to Huffard Animal Hospital immediately during business hours when your pet is in need of urgent care. A pet emergency can be a traumatic experience for both you and your pet, so it is important to have a veterinarian you can trust if and when you are put in an emergency situation. Our veterinarians and technicians are trained to handle pet emergencies seven days per week.

Pharmacy

Huffard Animal Hospital is equipped with an onsite pharmacy to ensure your pets receive the treatment they need, when they need it – all in one place. Our experienced team will talk you through each of your prescribed medications and the best way to administer them. Our representatives will take all the time a pet owner needs to make sure they are comfortable giving the medication.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is done with a handheld laser against the targeted problematic area on your pet’s body. Therapeutic light waves from the laser stimulate a chemical reaction which increases cellular metabolism. This stimulates blood circulation and regenerates cells, which reduces inflammation and promotes pain reduction and faster healing. Laser therapy can also reduce scar tissue formation.

Radiology

When we need to figure out what’s wrong with your pet, we routinely use x-rays to help identify the cause of the problem, rule out possible problems, or provide a list of possible causes. We may also use x-rays during a wellness exam to diagnose potential problems before they become serious.

Preventative Care

Preventative care is an important part of your pet’s overall health. Heartworm, fleas, and ticks can cause serious trouble to our four-legged friends. We offer many great products available to help your beloved pets.

Ultrasound

Ultrasonography (also called ultrasound or sonography) is a noninvasive, pain-free procedure that uses sound waves to examine a pet’s internal organs and other structures inside the body. It can be used to evaluate the animal’s heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and bladder; to detect fluid, cysts, tumors, or abscesses; and to confirm pregnancy or monitor an ongoing pregnancy.

Surgery & Laser Surgery

As a full-service veterinary hospital, we offer many types of soft tissue surgeries, advanced laser surgery, spaying and neutering, and select emergy surgeries.
